You will work closely with cross-functional Agile teams, test engineers, and product stakeholders to ensure high application performance, seamless UX, and reliable data accessibility.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCreate fast, accessible, and responsive user interfaces using React, Material-UI, and Redux Toolkit.Develop robust REST APIs with NestJS and TypeORM backed by relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL) and search platforms (Opensearch, Solr).\nWrite clean, maintainable code backed by automated unit and integration tests using modern JavaScript testing frameworks (Vitest, Jest, Testing Library).\nDeploy and support applications on OpenShift/Kubernetes managed via Helm charts and ArgoCD within a GitOps workflow.\nContribute to the tuning of OpenSearch indexes and data pipelines to maintain fast, scalable data retrieval for NestJS services.Assist with maintaining and monitoring real-time Change Data Capture (CDC) and streaming data pipelines (Debezium, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Vector) that feed system search engines.\nSupport the integration of semantic/vector search features (e.g., OpenSearch k-NN) and data enrichment workflows to power advanced application analytics.\n\nRequired Qualifications & Skills\n\nExperience: 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on web application development.\n7+ years with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).\n7+ years with React, state management (Redux Toolkit), routing, and UI libraries (Material-UI).\nStrong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Vite, and responsive design patterns.\n7+ years with Node.js and server-side frameworks (preferably NestJS).\nExperience with ORMs (TypeORM) and relational databases (MariaDB / MySQL).\nProficiency in using AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to write, test, and refactor clean code efficiently.\nHands-on experience designing RESTful APIs and documenting with OpenAPI/Swagger.\nPractical experience querying and integrating OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.\nBaseline understanding of event-driven architectures and data streaming (Kafka, CDC/Debezium).\nAt least 3 years of experience in an Agile/SAFe/Scrum environment building enterprise products.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Helm, or GitOps deployment workflows.\nSecurity+ Certification\n\nDesired Skills\n\nExposure to vector databases (OpenSearch k-NN), semantic search, or AI model integration.\nHands-on exposure to Apache Flink or Vector data routers.\nExperience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Redis caching, and authentication patterns (OAuth2/OIDC, Keycloak, JWT).\nSAFe certification\n\nEducation: Bachelors in a Technical Discipline – Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree (Desired not required)\n\nYears of Experience: 7+ years of experience or more\n\nSalary Range: $140,000 to $170,000 annually\n\nAbout Metric5\nMetric5 is a small business with big company benefits.
