Registered Nurse - Wound CareLocation: New York, NY 10037Compensation:Local Pay: Up to $3,037/week (Based on experience)Travel Pay: Up to $3,736/week (Based on experience)Contract Duration: 14 WeeksShift Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMSchedule: 4 Shifts per WeekEvery Other Weekend RequiredPosition Overview"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse - Wound Care to provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care within an acute care healthcare environment. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive wound assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, implementing prevention strategies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.The ideal candidate will possess strong Med/Surg nursing experience, advanced wound care expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care and education.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Wound Care & Patient ManagementConduct focused wound, ostomy, and continence assessmentsPerform physical assessments and develop individualized care plansAssess and document patient responses to:Wound treatmentsOstomy careContinence managementFistula and complex wound interventionsRecommend appropriate medications, treatments, and preventative interventionsRoutinely assess patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement prevention measuresCollaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient treatment plans and referralsEducation & Quality ImprovementEducate patients and families on:Wound preventionOstomy careContinence managementPrevention of complicationsDevelop and provide staff education programs including:OrientationIn-servicesContinuing educationParticipate in:Unit quality improvement initiativesNursing quality activitiesIncidence and prevalence studiesPromote culturally competent patient and staff educationClinical Leadership & OperationsDevelop, revise, and evaluate standards of wound care practiceAssist in the evaluation and selection of wound care supplies, equipment, and technologyCollaborate with nursing leadership regarding best practices and patient care challengesEscalate ethical concerns and conflict resolution issues appropriatelyMaintain confidentiality and compliance with patient rights and healthcare regulationsManage wound care-related equipment including:Specialty bedsNegative pressure wound therapy devicesRequired QualificationsAssociate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing programActive New York State RN License requiredCurrent AHA BLS Certification requiredMinimum two (2) years of Med/Surg nursing experienceWound care and colostomy experience requiredRequired Wound Care Certification (One Required)CWOCN - Certified Wound Ostomy Continence NurseCWON - Certified Wound Ostomy NurseCWCN - Certified Wound Care NurseCWS - Certified Wound SpecialistWCC - Wound Care CertifiedPreferred QualificationsPrevious acute care wound management experience preferredExperience with pressure injury prevention programs preferredStrong patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration skills preferredFor more details contact at hdavda@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
