This position will be responsible for providing code enforcement relating to public health, nuisance abatement, code enforcement activities and related municipal enforcement activities.\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO:\nUse good interpersonal skills to obtain public cooperation and compliance with code and ordinance violations.\nConduct routine field inspections to determine violations of applicable City Codes.\nHelp deliver on the City Council's mission for clean, safe, prosperous and attractive neighborhoods by recommending and/or taking appropriate action including issuing warning notices and administrative citations where code violations are present.\nEngage with and inform community members about code compliance guidelines, standards, laws, and regulations.\n\nPAYROLL/CLASSIFICATION TITLE:\nCode Compliance Inspector\n\nDISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:\nThis classification is distinguished from the Permit Technician in that in performs investigations and technical work related to the enforcement of and compliance with municipal, state and federal codes.\n\nSUPERVISION EXERCISED / SUPERVISION RECEIVED:\nReceives general supervision on routine items which are performed according to established standards and procedures and receives specific work instruction regarding non-routine matters and deadlines.\n\nWORK SCHEDULE:\nThe normal work is a 4/10, 7:30am to 6:00pm. This position will be required to be available to work on weekend days and/or additional hours as needed to respond to workload needs. This position is eligible for overtime pay.
