SUMMARY
The Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring efficient and accurate movement of goods within the company. The primary responsibilities include scheduling and managing truck logistics, handling inventory, processing orders, and maintaining effective communication with carriers and internal teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule trucks in BC, coordinating with carriers to set appropriate times and dates for deliveries.
Pull and manage inventory in Business Central to ensure accurate stock levels.
Verify inventory locations and availability against purchase order requirements.
Review inventory position daily and weekly against outstanding orders and sales forecasts; take action to expedite inbound shipments as needed.
Print pick tickets and ensure accurate order picking.
Catch and address short orders to prevent discrepancies.
Change orders to staging status in Business Central to prepare for shipment.
Handle will call orders and manage shipment of sample orders.
Finalize shipments in Business Central to ensure all logistics are completed.
Communicate effectively with carriers to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues.
Send internal Bills of Lading (BOLs) to the order desk for processing.
Support all departments by liaising with both internal and external customers regarding all inbound and outbound shipments.
Prepare and update staging reports as necessary.
Provide reports to internal and external customers as required.
Utilize various transportation provider software systems to facilitate material movement and scheduling.
Verify the accuracy of physical inventory and resolve any discrepancies as needed.
Complete special projects as assigned by management.
Perform tasks as instructed and work shifts as assigned by management.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to logistics and inventory management.
Apply and demonstrate knowledge of SOPs, HAACP, and SQF by following all food safety procedures and policies.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Communicate effectively – Speak, Read & Write in English.
Operate various office machines
Capable of sitting for extended periods.
Perform all assigned responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Business or a related field, preferably focused on business, accounting, or data analysis.
3 to 5 years of experience in transportation and distribution, including routing, dispatching, and load planning.
Strong understanding of logistics and transportation processes.
Knowledgeable in Distribution Center operations with excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems and skilled in Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
