Transportation Manager

Position Summary: As the Manager of Transportation, you will lead and inspire a team of transportation professionals to ensure our operations are efficient, compliant, and safe. You'll be at the helm of developing innovative transportation strategies, managing a diverse fleet, and navigating the complexities of logistics with agility and expertise. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all transportation functions, including policy development, vehicle maintenance, and route planning. Ensure our transportation strategies align with company goals and drive operational excellence. Innovate and Improve: Develop and implement cutting-edge transportation policies and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and performance. Collaborate with departments to integrate transportation goals with broader company objectives. Manage a high-performing team of drivers and transportation staff. Ensure all vehicles are well-maintained and operational. Oversee the lifecycle of transportation equipment, ensuring timely updates and replacements. Stay ahead of federal and state transportation regulations. Ensure full compliance and keep the team informed about relevant laws and best practices. Implement robust safety policies and procedures. Lead the training and development of transportation staff on best safety practices, fostering a culture of safety and accountability. Hire, train, and mentor transportation staff. Conduct regular team meetings to drive performance, address concerns, and promote professional growth. Experience and Qualifications: Experience: 5-10 years in transportation or logistics with proven management or supervisory experience. Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing budgets, and executing complex transportation operations. Education: High school diploma or GED required. A 2- or 4-year degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Skills and Certifications: Valid WI Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one. Hazardous Materials endorsement preferred. Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT rules. Proficiency in compliance software and standard office software. Certificate of DOT regulations training is a plus. Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $86,596.00 per year Benefits: Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: On the road
