The model is used to evaluate energy use scenarios, supportrequirements development, and inform investment decisions related to operational energytechnologies and future platform capabilities.The role will also contribute to broader Digital Engineering capability, DIMENSiON, which provides the digital architecture, modeling infrastructure, and integration environment that enables DSM development and supports application of model-based analysis across related Navy initiatives.The Power & Energy Systems Engineer / Modeler will define and model shipboard power and energy system architectures using MBSE methods and SysML-based tools to provide bi-directional requirements tracing, define and articulate system states, and execute operational and energy-use scenarios. analyses support identification of system efficiencies, integrationpathways for emerging technologies, and informed investment decisions for power and energytechnologies across naval platforms.Responsibilities may include development of system architecture models, representation ofsystem states and energy flows, integration of shipboard subsystems within MBSEenvironments, and preparation of technical analyses, reports, and briefings to support stakeholderdecision-making.Minimum Required Qualifications:BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or IT3+ years technical experience in engineering systems maintenance or shipyard programsto include experience developing reports and briefs.Functional proficiency with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as CAMEO,IBM Rational Rhapsody, Innoslate, MagicDraw, SPARX Enterprise Architect, or similarapplications.Functional proficiency with Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Power point, Excel,and Project.SECRET Clearance required; interim-SECRET acceptable to begin work.Preferred Qualifications:BS Marine/Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering5+ years of experience supporting ship or submarine maintenance, design, construction,or naval engineering analysisExperience developing SysML architecture models for complex engineering systemsDirect experience with Navy surface ship engineering systems, particularly powergeneration and electrical distribution systemsExperience with power system modeling, electrical plant load analysis (EPLA), orshipboard energy systems analysisExperience supporting Navy program offices, warfare centers, or NAVSEA technicalauthoritiesExperience developing and delivering formal reports, information papers, and briefingsfor program manager and Technical Warrant Holder communitiesFunctional proficiency with MATLAB, MATHCAD, or similar analytical toolsFamiliarity with digital engineering environments and model repositories supportingNavy system architecture developmentTECHEAD's mission is to make our associates successful by placing them in the right environment so they can grow and prosper.
