This includes but is not limited to testing, troubleshooting and repairing. The Electrical Apprentice will also collaborate with other team members to identify and solve issues.\nThis is a safety-sensitive position.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety First Put safety first and production second. Always.\nRead, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints and NEC and specifications to see and plan layout of commercial electrical equipment installations.\nTest electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.\nInstall, repair, or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber optic, line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts in both AC and DC systems.\nInstall, repair, or replace generators and industrial storage batteries.\nPerform preventative maintenance and testing of electrical systems both AC and DC.\nInstall electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protective devices, switches, and equipment required to accommodate the CEC and/or NEC.\nWork on electrical failures and replacements.\nCorrect connections and wiring on equipment.\nConduct preventative and maintenance programs, and keeps records of maintenance.\nMust continue to work towards training and certifications for work-related jobs.\nEnsure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld.\nOther duties as assigned.\nPhysical Demands\nThis job operates in a field environment. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift 50lbs or more, lift in awkward positions, stand, and twist for extended periods.\nMust have sound vision to identify color and shading in wires, plans, and materials.\nMust be willing to travel out of market/state as needed.\nMay be required to work long and unpredictable hours.\nMust be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes DOT physical, background check, and drug/alcohol testing and participate in the random testing program.\nMust be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.\nMust possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive company vehicles. A commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.\nMinimum Qualifications\nTechnical Skills:\nMust be able to work in a team environment and be a valued member of the crew and the company.\nRead blueprints and schematics and use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical parts.\nMust be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions.\nAble to bend conduit with hand or with mechanical benders.\nCapable and willing to dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or with power equipment.\nMust have successfully completed industrial first aid and rescue training.\nMust be able to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc.\nSoft Skills:\nMust be able to communicate at a high level in person, by phone, and by email with team members and clients.\nMust be self-motivated with the desire to learn new things and project a positive attitude toward others in all work-related settings.\nMust be able to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.\nMust be able to work on a team and independently as required.\nSupervisory Requirements\nNone.\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time position.\nWorkdays and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some overtime requirements.\nTravel\nWeekly travel is required for this position.
