Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description Vivid Engineering Group is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support our growing geotechnical team in our Denver office location. Vivid provides geotechnical engineering, construction inspection/materials testing, and environmental services for transportation, water, energy, and utility infrastructure projects on a local, state and federal level.Duties will include field exploration, laboratory testing, sampling, inspection, analysis and engineering support for geotechnical reports and designs including earthwork, foundations, pavements, utilities, earth retention, geologic hazards, and related project elements.Education: BS degree in Civil Engineering/Geology or similar discipline for staff level positions. MS degree in Geotechnical Engineering/Geology preferred for more senior positions.Experience:Previous field geotechnical and/or construction materials testing and inspection experienced preferred.Licenses And Certifications:EIT or equivalent for staff-level geotechnical positions.PG or Colorado PE or ability to obtain PE within 1 year for project-level positions.Responsibilities/Skills:Responsibilities will depend on level/years of experience and include the following: Work on geotechnical projects under the supervision of a senior engineer. Conduct field work and collect field data in a safe and effective manner. Analyze and compile data for incorporation into geotechnical reports. Preparation of calculations and technical reports. Prepare illustrations for engineering and geologic reports using software such as AutoCAD and gINT. Accompany senior staff to client meetings and presentations as requested. Work effectively in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively. A thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment. A can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset is essential.
