Since 1905, Hydro has turned natural resources into valuable products for people and businesses with focus on a safe and good workplace for our 30,000 employees in more than 140 locations.What we offer youRate of pay: $32-35 per hour$500 sign on bonus after 90 days$1.50 differential swing shift$1.75 differentail grave shiftFull benefits at 30 days, weekly paycheck and Union protection at 90 daysWhat you will be doingSummary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as, Electric Motors, Hydraulic Pumps / Valves, Pneumatic / Hydraulic cylinders, Cranes, Automatic Saws, Conveyor / Belt systems and related repair equipment such as Welders, Oxy-Fuel Torches, Drill Presses, Machine Tools, Power Tools and a full range of Hand ToolJob Duties and Responsibilities:Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repair of machineryRepairs and replaces defective parts, lubricates and cleans partsPerforms and lockout/tagout procedures according to company policyInstalls and assists with new and replacement equipmentPerforms preventative maintenance with regular inspectionsOther duties as assignedEnvironment/Health/Safety/Housekeeping:Understands that performing job tasks in a safe manner is the highest priorityHas read and understands department JSA’sAdheres to all safety rules, guidelines and wears appropriate PPE when requiredFills out “near miss” paperwork on any unsafe condition or action and reports any unsafe condition or act immediately to supervisor or EHS departmentResponsible for housekeeping and 5S in his or her respective areas of work or areas as directed by the department supervisorCooperates and contributes to the creation of a safe, secure and healthy working environment and to the achievement of the company’s environmental obligations and goalsWhat will make you successful?Required:Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in EnglishMust have basic math skills, use a calculator and read a tape measureMust have ability to use precision measuring tools.Must be willing to work a night shift- 6pm - 6am 4 nights a week.Must have troubleshooting ability with complex manufacturing machinery including hydraulics, pneumatics, and ability to read mechanical drawings and hydraulic schematics.Must be able to disassemble and reassemble components in the factory.Must have experiences, with bearings, gear boxes, gears and lubrication.Welding, cutting and fabrications skillsPreferred:Familiar with electrical and PLC equipment a plusMust be able to work cohesively in a team environmentHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
