Area Manager
Territory Location: New York City/WestchesterOverviewPlan, develop, and implement long and short-term strategies and marketing programs for a sales force covering a large territory, district, or region. Manage a team of sales representatives; define expectations, monitor progress, and counsel if expectations are not met.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and initiatives, sales territories, quotas, and goalsConduct sales meetings, product presentations, train, develop, and motivate the team to foster the success of the overall sales teamCall on key accounts in designated territory/region and work with sales management to develop overall sales strategiesCollaborate with key accounts in a geographic region to improve the distribution of products within set accountsAlign with supplier representatives to understand their brands, sales goals/projections, and support in securing additional market share through the team's effective selling approachMeet with key clients, assisting sale consultants with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing dealsAnalyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirementsPrepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansionPerform other job-related duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree plus five years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceThree years of demonstrated management experienceComprehensive understanding of wine and spirits to include regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic production, and serviceMust be at least 21 years of agePhysical DemandsPhysical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time may include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile devicePhysical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stoopingPhysical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include driving throughout the day with segments up to 2 hoursMay require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48lbsSafety Sensitive PositionThis position is deemed a safety-sensitive position. This salary range is an average range for this position.
