{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"46f35d3fe5cc9841d4ae466e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/46f35d3fe5cc9841d4ae466e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/46f35d3fe5cc9841d4ae466e","title":"Grinding Operator","description":"Description:1st Shift: 5:30AM - 2:00PM\r\n2nd Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM\r\nHourly: $18 - $24 (Based on Experience)\r\nLocation: Clarence, New York\r\nJob Summary\r\nSet up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal pieces.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\r\nOperate all tools for grinding, deburring, sanding and polishing while being proficient in grinding sheet metal.\r\nExamines and feels surface of work piece for defects.\r\nMoves grinder over surface of work piece to remove scratches and imperfections\r\nPolishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface\r\nNon-essential Duties:\r\nReplaces worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts\r\nSelects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications\r\nAssists in other production areas as needed\r\nFollows all safety procedures\r\nRequirements:\r\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\r\nPossesses basic technical knowledge of grinding tools and their safe operation\r\nAble to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks\r\nExperience and Education:\r\nHigh School Diploma or GED\r\n1 2 years manufacturing experience\r\nEquivalent combination of education and experience.\r\nSpecial Requirements:\r\nMachine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.\r\nRequires the use of the following personal protective equipment:\r\nSafety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.\r\nMust be able to:\r\nWork safely in a fast paced environment\r\nWork overtime, including weekends as requested.\r\nOther Duties:\r\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
