DECC Security works at hockey games, concerts, weddings, and many other fun and engaging events. An Event Security member will uphold the DECC’s safety and security policies and procedures under the guidance of our Safety and Security Manager.\nRequirements & Competencies\nAbility to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected events.\nAbility to resolve problems and manage difficult situations as needed.\nAbility to move quickly throughout the complex when an event(s) is located in multiple areas.\nProvide excellent customer service experience.\nPreferred Education and Experience\n1+ years of security experience\nEssential Functions (Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.)\nProvide excellent customer service.\nDeescalate tense situations that may arise.\nPatrol arenas, parking ramps, and skywalk.\nAdopt and maintain the DECC’s safety culture and policies.\nClearly communicate with other departments.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nSchedule\nThis position is part-time with a schedule based on DECC event needs. This position will have day, afternoon, and/or evening shifts scheduled on various days of the week and may include some holidays. The DECC cannot always schedule a definite ending time due to the nature of the events, but an estimated time may be provided.\nUniform\nMust provide their own black or khaki slacks (jeans are not allowed). The DECC will provide shirts with the DECC logo.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nNA\nWork Environment\nEvent Security will work all throughout the DECC Facility and grounds. Temperatures can range from cold to hot and noise within the work environment can vary from moderate to high levels depending on events within the building.\nPhysical Demands\nThis position will require someone that is able to stand on their feet for many hours at a time, moving quickly to different places based on needs. Security will need to use their hands frequently, and be able to see, hear, and speak often.\nTravel Required\nNo\nAdditional Eligibility Requirements\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nSuccessful completion of reference checks.\nSuccessful completion of a background check.\nSuccessful completion of a drug test, if applicable.\nWork Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements\nThe DECC uses USCIS Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment. On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization. The employee is required to present the DECC with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization at the time of hire. The DECC will examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s).\nThe list of acceptable documents can be provided by Human Resources.\nAt-Will Employment\nThis position is at will.
