This position is responsible for processing, reviewing, and ensuring compliance of payroll taxes for clients across the United States. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of tax regulations, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, regulations, and best practices; stay current as requirements changeAccurately and timely file original and amended payroll tax returns at federal, state, and local levelsReview and monitor payroll records to ensure tax transactions are recorded correctly Audit new client setups to confirm proper configuration of tax codes and related itemsGenerate, audit, and correct w-2's as required Support client retention by delivering clear, professional, and responsive customer service via phone and emailCollaborate with internal teams and departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll tax processingAdhere to all department and company standard operating proceduresMaintain accurate and organized records and documentationUtilize tax software and digital tools to manage client accounts efficiently and in compliance with regulationsAvailable to work extended hours during peak quarterly tax seasonsPerform other duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience2-3 years of experience in payroll, tax, accounting, or a related field preferredBasic understanding of payroll tax processes, with a willingness to learn federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulationsAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a teamStrong communication and critical thinking skillsExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesProven ability to provide top-level support to customers and associates.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software applications as neededPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience processing payroll taxes across multiple companiesExperience with Multi-State payroll tax processesExperience in MasterTax or Foundation Software preferredConstruction payroll experience is a plusOther employee rewards include tickets to Cleveland sporting events, a variety of lunch and learns, and various employee-appreciation events throughout the year.
