This position performs analysis of building materials for use in construction. Additional consideration for Federal design and design/build experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nFollowing is a general list of tasks falling into the areas of responsibility of the Structural Engineer. It attempts to present a comprehensive, but not complete, listing of potential assignments that may be undertaken.\nPerform structural calculations and design using current codes and standards.\nDevelop layouts, drawings, and specifications for structural systems.\nCreate sketches and coordinate with Designers/Drafters.\nResearch design options and support the lead engineer.\nReview shop drawings and ensure design accuracy.\nLead smaller projects or serve as project engineer when assigned.\nCoordinate with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical).\nUse engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, etc.) to produce design documents.\nConduct site visits to verify field conditions and measurements.\nAttend client and internal meetings.\nSupport contract administration and documentation.\nCollaborate with construction teams on design-build projects.\nAssist with proposals and business development efforts.\nQualifications:\nEducation: B.S. in Civil Engineering (required); M.S. preferred\nLicense: Registered Professional Engineer in Florida (required)\nExperience: 5+ years in structural engineering; federal project experience preferred\nCertifications: LEED AP BD+C a plus\nSoftware: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, Mathcad, Enercalc, Microsoft Office\nSkill and Competencies:\nStrong technical and analytical skills\nExcellent communication and writing abilities\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines\nTeam-oriented with strong interpersonal skills\nSelf-motivated and detail-oriented\nLeadership potential for mentoring and guiding others\nFamiliarity with UFC and Whole Building Design Guide standard\nQualified applicants at GMHILL must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and must meet client security requirements.
