Senior Procurement Manager

Jankel delivers customized occupant survivability solutions and supports tactical and combat vehicle OEMs through the design and manufacturing of armor systems.Role Description:This is a full-time on-site role based in Greenville, SC. The Procurement Manager will oversee procurement operations, including sourcing and evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement strategies. Responsibilities include maintaining supplier relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of quality materials to support organizational objectives.Functional Responsibilities:Act as the primary point of contact between JTS and its supply base for all aspects of negotiation and contracting for the supply of material and services, to include:Supervise a team of procurement specialists in the JTS supply chain team.Material sourcing based on material specification and evaluation supplied by engineering. Conduct detailed coordination with suppliers and subcontractors to include regularly updated production/delivery schedules.Coordination with production, shipping/receiving, and project management for the timely procurement and receipt of material and services - support project budgets and plans with material costs and forecasts.Developing and maintaining close, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive reliability, transparency, responsiveness, and long-term strategic partnership across the supply chain.Qualification of suppliers as required by customer requirements, ISO and/or other forms of accreditation in coordination with quality and engineering departments, and maintenance of the Approved Supplier List.Timely and accurate product delivery to the customer in accordance with the delivery schedule and JTS Business Plan.Other duties as required by Management consistent with the JTS Business Plan. Must be knowledgeable and experienced in US Government Contracting and will provide expert advice on all aspects of purchasing. Should have a minimum 5 years’ experience within the US Defense Industrial Base. Working in a similar capacity to that described in this job description, he/she would have held a purchasing position within a medium volume manufacturing and assembly organization at Tier 1 supplier level. A background with armor, military vehicles, and/or heavy equipment is a plus. Additionally, he/she is responsible for supporting appropriate accreditation under ISO and/or AQAP and assist the PMO in contract administration matters.Qualifications:Essential:HS diploma + 5 years of experience in a logistics role.Competent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.Competent with Deltek CostPoint or other ERP systems. Personable, self-confident, and able to network effectively within the US military and defense industrial community.Excellent organizational and team management skills. Desirable:BA/BS or relevant degree preferred. Leadership experience preferred.Experience with manufacturing.Familiarization with Lean Six Sigma tools and processes.Eligible for US Security Clearance to minimum SECRET.
