Headquartered in Gillette, WY, we perform heavy civil dirt work construction projects throughout the state.\nWe are currently seeking experienced Scraper Operators for our Union project in Cheyenne, WY.\nJob Summary\nThe Scraper Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating scraper equipment to cut, load, haul, dump, and spread earth materials. This position will support mass earthmoving and road construction activities while working closely with foremen and other equipment operators to meet production and grade requirements.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSafely operate self-propelled scrapers to cut, load, haul, dump, and spread material.\nPerform mass earthmoving, rough grading, subgrade preparation, and material distribution.\nCoordinate with dozers, graders, water trucks, and other support equipment.\nMaintain awareness of haul roads, traffic patterns, ground conditions, and surrounding equipment.\nComplete required pre- and post-operation equipment inspections.\nPerform basic equipment maintenance, including greasing, cleaning, and checking fluids.\nImmediately report mechanical issues, unsafe conditions, or production concerns.\nFollow all company, Union, project-specific, and applicable safety requirements.\nAssist with other equipment or related duties as needed.\nRequired Skills and Experience\nPrevious experience operating scrapers safely and productively.\nMinimum of 2 years of scraper or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.\nExperience with large-scale earthwork or road construction preferred.\nStrong understanding of haul roads, material handling, and loading techniques.\nStrong situational awareness and commitment to safety.\nReliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.\nAbility to follow instructions and communicate with supervisors and other operators.\nCertifications and Licenses\nValid Driver’s License.\nAbility to complete all required Union, company, and site-specific training.\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nOutdoor construction work in varying weather and ground conditions.\nExposure to dust, noise, vibration, moving equipment, and uneven terrain.\nAbility to climb on and off equipment and safely operate controls for extended periods.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform occasional ground-level tasks.\nRequired use of appropriate PPE.\nSchedule\nMonday through Friday, typically 10–12-hour shifts, depending on project needs.\nOvertime and occasional weekend work may be required.\nUnion Project\nThis position is for a Union construction project in Cheyenne, WY.
