You will be responsible for the selection of cells, architecting, designing, and implementing of module designs and module to pack integrations from new concept through production launch and ramp for different cell formats.\nWhat you get to do:\nDevelop, validate, and release Advanced battery cells for the HV battery, specifically LFP, Sodium-ion, Solid State, etc.\nLaying out cell, module and pack technology roadmaps.\nEstablish test procedures (including instrumentation, fixturing, test environment) to fulfill DVPR requirements.\nLead battery cell suppliers to ensure fulfillment of component and performance specifications.\nWork with the engineering lab and internal/external test facilities to complete HV cell and battery testing.\nUse structured problem-solving methods to identify root cause for propulsion system issues and integrate corrective actions into new & existing designs.\nGenerate ideas to reduce product cost and improve quality.\nAnalyze data, and provide recommendations of technical results to the management team.\nSchedule work including issuing work orders, monitor progress, and resolve problems in order to ensure completion of projects.\nConduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations and review with management.\nCreate project plans and timelines and assist management with defining budget requirements.\nPromptly resolve plant build issues and field problems.\nParticipate in component integration events, fabricating and testing first-of-a-kind battery prototypes to validate cell and module/pack design choices.\nSupport FMEA analysis\nWhat you bring to the team\nMaster of Science degree in Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Physics (ABET Accredited University).\nRequires 3+ years of relevant experience.\nKnowledge & experience of cell chemistries employed in high voltage battery technologies and energy management.\nStrong mechanical, thermal, electrical and safety aptitude.\nExperience identifying and solving the root cause for complex problems.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and inform management of any barriers.\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nHigh level of analytical skills.\nStrong organizational skills.\nStrong interpersonal skills and able to effectively work in a diverse multi-cultural environment.\nExperience with tools like MATLAB Simulink, GT, ANSYS, etc.\nStrong PC skills including MS Office and database tools.\nExceptional Candidates Might Have:\nPhD in Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering (ABET Accredited University).\n3+ years of experience with electrochemistry of battery cells\nPrior experience at an EV OEM or experience with different battery cell chemistries (LFP, Sodium-ion, Solid State, etc.)\nHands-on experience in building battery modules and packs\nFamiliar with electrochemical techniques for cell validation\nExperience with building electrochemical, equivalent circuit and battery thermal models\n\nWe want to work with people that reflect the communities in which we operate:\nRe:Car dba SLATE is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
