All of us at Basic Fun! are dedicated to enriching lives and creating unforgettable moments through imaginative play.\nPosition Overview:\nReporting directly to the Director of IT and working closely with the Lead Software Engineer, the Power BI Report Developer is responsible for building and maintaining dashboards, KPI logic, and governed access in Power BI Service. Works within centralized, curated datasets and follows established governance and development standards.\nResponsibilities include but not limited to:\nPower BI Development & Visualization\nDesign, build, and iterate on Power BI dashboards and reports using approved semantic datasets.\nTranslate business questions into intuitive visuals, drill-through paths, and user-friendly navigation.\nAuthor and maintain KPI measures in DAX; implement bookmarks, tooltips, and report-level interactions.\nEnsure consistent design standards and adherence to data storytelling best practices.\nPackage and publish reports as Power BI Apps for target audiences.\nGovernance, Access & Operations\nManage workspace permissions, App audiences, and Row-Level Security (RLS) roles per governance rules.\nMonitor refresh status, lineage, and dataflow/dataset dependencies; escalate issues to the BI Lead.\nDocument report purpose, KPIs, and filter logic; maintain a change log for each report.\nFollow DEV to PROD promotion processes and version control conventions.\nCollaboration & Support\nPartner with Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to clarify requirements and success criteria.\nProvide light Power Query transformations where needed, staying within established data contracts.\nValidate numbers with business owners and assist with adoption (training, quick guides, office hours).\n2\nSkills, knowledge and abilities:\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.\nExperience: A minimum of 4, preferably 6 years of experience building Power BI reports and dashboards in Power BI Service.\nTechnical proficiency:\nProficiency with DAX and fundamental data modeling; working knowledge of Power Query (M).\nStrong visual design sense and attention to usability; comfortable presenting insights to stakeholders.\nIn depth SQL knowledge/troubleshooting and design.\nExcel literacy (PivotTables, Power Query).\nExperience managing RLS, workspace/App permissions, and scheduled refreshes in Power BI Service.\nPreferred Skills:\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Fabric features (e.g., Dataflows Gen2, Datamarts) and Premium Per User (PPU).\nExposure to ERP/CRM reporting contexts (SAP Business One preferred).\nExperience documenting KPI definitions and supporting end-user adoption.\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.\nLocation:\nFull-time on-site position located at our company’s headquarter offices in Boca Raton, Florida.\nWe believe strongly in the philosophy that we are Better Together and that the collaboration and teamwork of being with each other in the office supports our culture the best.
