Driver's Education Instructor-Various-Must Be Certified to Apply- Available ImmediatelyResume Required.Please view the job description below.For more information contact: Drew Hackett at drewhackett@davidson.k12.nc.usTitle:Driver's Education InstructorReports to : Director of TransportationTerms of Employment: 12 MonthsSalary: Pay Grade-66ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAll Driver Education Teachers will teach classes and drive students (BTW).Driver Education Teacher will maintain accurate recordsDriver Education Teacher will submit all requested reports accurately and on time to the Lead Instructor and Driver Education Coordinator.Driver Education Teacher will be responsible for textbooks and equipmentDriver Education Teacher will be expected to display good public relation skills with parents and school personnelDriver Education Teachers will be expected to maintain an open line of communication with other Drivers Education Teachers and the Lead InstructorDriver Education Teacher shall have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writingDriver Education Teacher shall have the ability to reason and make effective judgmentsDriver Education Teacher shall have the ability to resolve problem situationsDriver Education Teacher shall demonstrate proper phone etiquetteDriver Education Teacher shall have minimal computer skillsDriver Education Teacher shall have the ability to compile and summarize informationDriver Education Teacher shall have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course or driver education instruction ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONSPerforms other related work as requiredMINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCETo become a Driver Education Instructor, you must have a SDPI (specified on teaching certificate), or you must attend the 80-hour Basic Driver Education Course (DMV).Have at least four years' experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle.Have not had a revocation or suspension of his/her driver license in the Ten years immediately preceding the date of application.Have graduated from high school or hold high school equivalency certificate.Not have had any convictions for moving violations totaling five or more points in the three years preceding the date of application.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
