This role is responsible for overseeing all sanitation activities within our SQF and Kosher-certified facility, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved.The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who prefers spending the majority of their time on the production floor working alongside the sanitation team, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and partnership with production and FSQA leadership. This position reports directly to the Head of Manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop the sanitation team to ensure consistent execution of sanitation programs and standards.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, urgency, and continuous improvement.Spend the majority of time on the production floor actively engaging with employees, providing guidance, training, and support.Build strong working relationships between sanitation, production, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehouse teams.Sanitation OperationsDirect and oversee all cleaning and sanitizing activities for production equipment, processing areas, storage areas, and facility infrastructure.Ensure sanitation activities are completed according to the Master Sanitation Schedule and established Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).Verify that sanitation tasks are completed effectively through visual inspections, ATP testing, environmental monitoring, and other verification methods as required.Identify sanitation deficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly.Food Safety & SQF ComplianceSupport and maintain all sanitation programs required under SQF, GMP, HACCP, Kosher, and regulatory requirements.Ensure sanitation documentation, records, verification activities, and corrective action reports are completed accurately and on time.Assist in preparing for and supporting SQF, Kosher, customer, and regulatory audits.Partner with the Quality team to continuously improve food safety and sanitation systems.Chemical & Safety ManagementManage sanitation chemical inventory, usage, storage, and handling procedures.Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and all safety protocols.Train employees in safe chemical handling, sanitation procedures, PPE requirements, and food safety expectations.Documentation & ReportingMaintain sanitation records, logs, inspection reports, verification results, and corrective action documentation.Monitor sanitation performance metrics and communicate results to leadership.Assist with development and maintenance of sanitation procedures, training materials, and sanitation-related programs.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 3 years of sanitation leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of food safety programs, including GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, and sanitation best practices.Experience working in SQF-certified facilities.Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to read, interpret, and implement procedures, regulations, and food safety standards.PreferredExperience in commercial baking or food manufacturing.Experience supporting SQF audits and regulatory inspections.Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.What Success Looks LikeA highly engaged sanitation team that consistently meets sanitation and food safety expectations.Strong collaboration between sanitation, production, and quality departments.Consistent compliance with SQF, Kosher, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.Clean, audit-ready facility conditions every day.Continuous improvement of sanitation effectiveness, efficiency, and team performance.If you enjoy leading people, working alongside your team, solving problems, and contributing directly to food safety and operational excellence, we encourage you to apply.
