The successful candidate will help pursue larger structural engineering projects and oversee and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise in structural engineering, project management proficiency and excellent leadership abilities. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of structural engineering while managing impactful projects from concept to completion, this is the role for you.\nResponsibilities\nProject Management:\nLead and manage structural projects from initiation to closeout; ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and schedule.\nDevelop project plans and reports, schedules and budgets in collaboration with the team.\nCoordinate with clients, stakeholders and other engineering/planning disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.\nMonitor project progress, identify risk and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project.\nConduct regular project meetings, provide updates and communicate with project team members to ensure alignment and accountability.\nDemonstrates competency in multiple project phases (planning, design, construction, etc.)\nStructural Engineering:\nProvide technical expertise in structural design, reports, estimates and construction. Lead/assist with design, plans and specifications as needed.\nPerform/oversee modeling and analysis using industry standard software.\nReview and approve reports to ensure concurrence with KLJ quality standards.\nConduct site visits, inspections and assessments as needed to support project requirements.\nConduct public input/engagement meetings as required by the project.\nClient Management:\nServe as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues and managing expectations throughout the project life cycle.\nCultivate strong client relationships and identify opportunities for addition project work.\nEnsure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality engineering and planning solutions that meet or exceed expectations.\nTeam Leadership:\nProvide leadership, guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, planners and project team members.\nFoster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.\nDelegate tasks effectively, monitor performance and provide feedback to support individual and team growth.\nServes as a technical resource/lead on projects or tasks for large scale projects.\nQuality Assurance and Compliance:\nEnsure compliance with relevant codes, standards, regulations and industry best practices.\nReview project deliverable for accuracy, completeness and compliance with quality standards.\nImplement quality assurance processes and procedures to enhance project outcomes and deliverables.\nQualifications\nEducation:\nA bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited post-secondary institution.\nPE is required.\nPreferences:\n15+ years of relevant experience\nPMP, PgMP, PfMp, CAPM or equivalent certification\nMaster’s degree with Structural focus\nPrevious project management experience in a professional services firm\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nStrong understanding of codes, regulations and industry standards related to structural engineering.\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with clients, team members and stakeholders.\nProven leadership abilities with experience in pursuit and management of structural engineering projects.\nAbility to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced world.\nJudgment and interpretation is required to select or establish appropriate guidelines in a given situation\nUse common courtesy while interacting with people to satisfactorily perform the job.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
