The organization values safety, reliability, and responsive service for every rental.Role Description The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a full-time, hybrid role based in Midland, TX, with some flexibility for administrative and planning tasks to be completed from home. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of rental equipment, including telehandlers, manlifts, skid steers, excavators, light towers, and air compressors. Day-to-day duties include performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, completing repair orders, and ensuring equipment is safe and ready for rental. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will also maintain accurate service records, communicate equipment status to the operations team, and support field service calls as needed. The role requires adherence to all safety protocols, proper use of tools and diagnostic equipment, and collaboration with team members to minimize downtime.Qualifications Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Equipment Repair, with the ability to perform preventive and corrective work on a variety of rental units.Hands-on experience with Heavy Equipment, including telehandlers, manlifts, skid steers, excavators, and related systems.Proficiency in Vehicle Maintenance for trailers, service trucks, and support vehicles used in rental operations.Demonstrated Troubleshooting ability for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical diagrams, and maintenance schedules.Commitment to safety practices, hazard recognition, and compliance with company and industry standards.Effective communication and documentation skills for recording work performed and coordinating with operations and rental staff.High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel, heavy equipment, or automotive technology preferred.Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM training) and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record are beneficial.Ability to lift and move heavy components, work in outdoor conditions, and adapt to changing job site needs.
