Implements and executes Quality Control/Quality Assurance practices.\n\nEssential Functions\nParticipate in project proposals, client interview preparation, and stakeholder presentations; may attend client interviews\nHelp determine the project team and staffing requirements for a given assignment or project task\nCoordinate directly with various internal and external disciplines/departments to ensure design process is complete and comprehensive\nContribute to and supervise team members in the design concepts, studies, design options, and establish design criteria\nPerform complex analyses and design calculations, document design procedures, and assure design complies with applicable codes and standards\nAssist in leading the preparation of design documents including schematics, design details, calculations, specifications, and utility coordination\nCoordinate the production of project deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and commissioning documents\nSign and seal deliverables as the Engineer of Record\nWork with project managers to assure that project schedule, budget and design are consistent with project criteria\nCoordinate and complete permit requirements\nAssist in supervising construction administration activities including resolving construction-related issues, disputes, and disagreements\nSupervise the close-out documentation process with contractors, clients, and agencies and identify lessons learned for internal training purposes\nAssist in creating and enforcing the application of TERRA standards and guidelines\nContribute to authoring marketing materials\nDevelop and maintain trusted relationships with team members, multidisciplinary team members, vendors, and authorities having jurisdiction\nMentor, train, and provide oversight to staff members\nParticipate in the recruitment, interviewing, and candidate selection process\nPerform other duties as required\n\nEducation/Experience\nB.S. in civil/structural engineering or related field (ABET/EAC-accredited program)\n8+ years of applicable engineering experience\nSE Required\nAdditional credentials preferred (i.e., CFM, CPESC, ENV SP, LEED AP, etc.)\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDemonstrates ability to successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment; communicates effectively and builds relationships and trust internally and externally\nExercises sound engineering judgment\nStrong ability to convey information through effective and timely verbal and written communication\nHigh level of proficiency with computer-aided design software and other software packages typically associated with engineering required\nStrong proficiency in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, etc.\nDemonstrates effective project management skills, effectively leveraging experience and skills to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget\nAdvanced public speaking, presentation, and leadership skills\nDemonstrates understanding of industry and construction practices, methodologies, and best engineering practices and leverages that understanding to lead engineering efforts through all project stages\nAble to conduct site visits as needed, may require a valid driver's license\nEffectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocols\nMaintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirements\n\nPhysical Requirements\nInvolves sitting a considerable amount of the time, but requires the ability to conduct field/site visits to inspect work\nMay exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects\nOccasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds\nConsiderable time is spent at a workstation using a computer and using various forms of communication (telephone, email, messaging, etc.)\nField work includes exposure to outside weather conditions and various environmental conditions depending on the site\nPhysical activities include walking and occasional stooping and crouching\n\nThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties and/or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
