Join our team today!\nThis role will provide support and technical leadership on projects, capital, and operational/technical issues resolution and quality/cost improvement to the Duluth Mill.\nThis role pays an annual salary of $85,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.\nEssential Job Functions:\nProvide technical assistance to resolve production and maintenance issues.\nAssist in setting priorities for technical projects; provide leadership and technical resources for installation, start-up, and training for new projects.\nMake inspections of operations, checking progress of projects, quality and process troubleshooting, reviewing operations data, conferring with operations personnel on problems, etc.\nAssist in resolving daily quality and operating problems and improving operations.\nConduct weekly and monthly chemical inventories, ordering the necessary chemical products to ensure continuous mill operations.\nBe the primary contact for all chemical related vendors.\nTrack chemical costs\nConduct routine meetings with vendors to ensure they are operating safely and are engaged in our processes.\nMaintain the SDS system.\nPerform research, conduct trials, and recommend changes to improve the operation.\nAnalyze mill processes and procedures, monitor industry technological developments, and recommend projects as appropriate.\nLead efforts toward improving quality and runnability.\nLead efforts toward improving costs.\nProvide problem solving and analytical skills and leadership.\nDevelop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with maintenance, leadership, and technicians; as well as personnel in other Sofidel mills.\nProvide assistance to environmental lead with site sample collection and various monitoring activities.\nBe a part of the “on-call” rotation.\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in pulp and paper science, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering. At least two years of process engineering experience in an industrial setting preferred but not required. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience\nAnalyze data, organize it so others find it useful, and make decisions based on data.\nAbility to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings.\nPossess effective problem solving and project planning skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite.\nSkilled in statistical analysis and statistical process control.\nDemonstrate a dedicated commitment to safety.\nContribute to a collaborative team environment.\nStrong interpersonal and written communication skills.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to learn and perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
