Underwriting Analysts collaborate with Underwriters and other staff to deliver mortgage recommendations to lenders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Underwriting Analysts will contribute to financial review and analysis of commercial real estate properties nationwide across agency, balance sheet, and/or CMBS executions. Job functions include, but are not limited to management analysis, market research, property condition analysis, valuation and financial analysis, and on-site property inspections.\r\nDuties and Responsibilities\r\nPerform comprehensive analysis and interpretation of multifamily real estate transactions in partnership with the team, ensuring adherence to lender guidelines.\r\nDemonstrate ownership of your work, take on challenges and practice patience when learning new processes.\r\nReviews, tracks and maintains organization of due diligence for transactions.\r\nGathers site, neighborhood, and city data including demographics, sales and rent comparable(s), absorption surveys and occupancy studies.\r\nPrepare property condition analysis and identify property level risks using engineering reports.\r\nAnalyze, review, and spread leases, rent rolls, operating statements, and collections of commercial real estate properties.\r\nCrosstrain across the Companys various products to cultivate ability to underwrite a variety of deal types.\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\nBachelors degree required; business, communications, or analytical-related field of study preferred.\r\nProficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel\r\nOrganized and detail oriented\r\nExcellent organizational, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.\r\nProblem-solving skills to reflect level of responsibilities\r\nSelf-motivated and solutions-oriented approach\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience in commercial real estate is strongly preferred\r\n2+ years of professional experience with experience in underwriting/financial analytical capacity preferred\r\nCritical Competencies\r\nAbility to interface with all levels of management.\r\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\r\nPassionate about culture; understands the significance of a companys culture and its power to drive success.\r\nSelf-starter and ability to work well individually and as part of a team.\r\nAbility to work across disciplines to generate new processes and/or resolve issues.\r\nStrong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.\r\nStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\r\nExcellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle short timeframes.\r\nProven ability to successfully prioritize multiple tasks and allocate resources to meet goals.\r\nCreative thinker with sound judgment.\r\nProven ability to take initiative, think on your feet, and make thoughtful decisions.\r\nHighly effective project management and time management skills.\r\nWorking conditions\r\nThis position is in an office or remote environment, and travel is required.\r\nPhysical requirements\r\nAbility to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods.\r\nFrequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.\r\nAbility to communicate clearly in person and via electronic means.\r\nOccasional lifting or moving of items up to1020 pounds(e.g., office supplies).\r\nVisual ability to read documents, screens, and reports.\r\nAbility to navigate office environment, including walking short distances.\r\nEEO Statement\r\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
