CUSTODIAN 2026-2027

Job Title: Custodian Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Head Custodian Pay Grade: 3 Dept. /School: Facilities Days: 247 Primary Purpose To provide a safe, clean, attractive and efficiently maintained building for students, and teachers to learn and develop scholastically. Qualifications To demonstrate the aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities Experience: None Reports to: Head custodian Major Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for opening and/or closing the building Responsible for controlling the temperature in the building Responsible for the general cleanliness of all areas of the of the building NOT just assigned areas Cleans classrooms and restrooms daily as assigned Makes minor building repairs as he/she is capable of doing Keeps grounds free of trash Moves furniture or equipment within the building as required Assist in the cleanup of cafeteria and kitchen daily Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours Equipment Used General cleaning equipment to include but not limited to: Brooms, mops, ringers, dust mops, buffers, extractors, wet/dry vacs, ladders ect.
