Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.\n\nWhat You'll Do:\nAssess spacecraft electrical system technology and architecture definition.\nPerform electrical system conceptual development, trade studies and electrical subsystem level requirements flow-down (analysis and allocation).\nProvide technical oversight of subsystem designs to ensure the spacecraft electrical system is compliant and verifiable at the spacecraft bus level.\nSubsystems include power management, command & data handling, attitude determination and control, RF Telecom and electrical harnessing.\nEvaluate new internal electrical technology development and upgrades for the bus electrical system architecture and implement design solutions for maximum SWaP value.\nInterface with Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, and other engineering disciplines in leading the development of electrical concepts, trade studies, architectures, concepts for operations and plans for verification/validation.\nProvide guidance in defining and implementing the test and verification methodologies.\nLead resolution of hardware anomalies at the system level and determine root cause and corrective action.\nEvaluate size, weight, and power trades.\nIdentify and mitigate technical risks early in the design phase.\nPresent to customer and to team members in written and verbal communication.\nMaintain a regular and predictable work schedule.\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units,\nStrategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.\nPerform other duties as necessary.\nOn-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nWork is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.\nMay occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.\nMay access other facilities in various weather conditions.\n#IJS\n\nRequired Education, Experience, & Skills\n\nBS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.\nEach higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.\nKnowledge of electronics used for power distribution, power switching, command and data handling and RF Communications systems.\nKnowledge of grounding architectures for low noise systems.\nKnowledge of harnessing to meet voltage drop, power and signal integrity requirements.\nKnowledge of EMI/EMC/ESD design and test requirements for aerospace hardware.\nExperience with spacecraft level grounding, EMI/EMC/ESD and electrical interface control definitions.\nExperience with design trades, design concepts, system specifications, system analyses and failure reporting.\nDetailed design experience with \"space flight qualified\" electronics.\nAnalytical experience including FMECA, WCA, Reliability, RCCA, voltage drop and derating.\nExceptional written communication skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to lead group discussions with customers and team members.\nTechnical design team leadership experience.\nExperience in high-speed digital system architectures, closed-loop control systems, integration and test.\nExperience with embedded processor-based electronics architecture.\nUnderstanding of redundant hardware/software architectures and fault tolerance design.\n\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $111000 - $137500\n\nPlease note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
