Please join us if your goals align with ours!\nWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to make an immediate impact on the design of a next-generation phased array antenna for satellite communications. As a Mechanical Engineer at Farcast, you will be responsible for driving forward the design and evaluation of mechanical systems in our product. In this role, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to understand design trade-offs, propose and implement novel solutions, and support the transition to production. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in mechanical design, a solid understanding of CAD and FEA simulation tools, and a proven track record of bringing designs to production.\nResponsibilities Lead the design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems, ex, mechanical structures, enclosures, etc.\nPerform and interpret FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations of components to ensure robustness and performance.\nOptimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)\nOwn 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies used in Farcast products.\nTeam with PCB Design engineers to define and document mechanical interfaces for PCBs\nDesign and build test fixtures required for sub-system and system-level testing.\nCollaborate with team members to address mechanical and thermal considerations during testing\nSupport assembly, integration, and testing of Farcast Products\nDevelop and maintain manufacturing and assembly instructions for Farcast products\nRequired Experience 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in consumer electronics, robotics, automotive, or aerospace industries\nExperience using FEA tools to evaluate and inform designs\nProven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects\nExpert with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and GD&T\nKnowledge of rapid prototyping techniques, sheet metal design, machining, and plastics molding and forming\nFamiliarity with basic machine shop tools and equipment\nExperience taking designs to high-volume production environments\nStrong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to drive consensus in decision making\nEducation Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering\nWhat Makes You Stand Out Experience in thermal design, simulation, and validation\nUnderstanding of reliability testing, failure analysis, and stress testing\nFamiliarity with environmental testing and certification\nBase Salary Final compensation package will include a competitive base salary, meaningful company stock options, and a comprehensive package of cash and non-cash benefits.
