The ideal candidate is a skilled Python developer with experience in scalable backend architectures, DevSecOps practices, and Agile delivery environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, enhance, and maintain Python 3.x middleware and backend services\nDesign, build, and support secure REST APIs for internal and external integrations\nDevelop solutions using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar Python frameworks\nCreate workflow automation and system integration solutions across enterprise platforms\nIntegrate applications with databases, APIs, and other enterprise data sources\nSupport modernization of legacy systems into scalable, maintainable architectures\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demos\nSupport CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps best practices\nTroubleshoot production issues and support system performance optimization\nPrepare technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational guides\nCollaborate with technical teams, program leadership, and stakeholders to deliver project milestones\nEnsure solutions meet federal cybersecurity, compliance, and accessibility requirements\nMinimum Qualifications\nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required\n3+ years of professional software development experience\nStrong hands-on experience with Python 3.x\nExperience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django\nExperience developing and supporting REST APIs\nExperience integrating applications with databases and enterprise systems\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills\nAbility to work independently in a remote environment and collaboratively with distributed teams\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior experience supporting federal agencies or government contractors\nExperience with federal application modernization initiatives\nExperience modernizing or replacing legacy systems\nCloud platform experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes\nPython Institute certifications strongly preferred:\no PCEP (Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer)\no PCAP (Certified Associate in Python Programming)\no PCPP (Certified Professional in Python Programming)\nWork Environment & Schedule\nFull-time remote role based in the Washington, DC area\nPeriodic travel to client meetings, planning sessions, or program events as needed\nStandard business hours with flexibility based on project requirements\nWhy OMG Federal\nOMG Federal partners with government agencies to deliver mission-focused solutions across cybersecurity, IT modernization, and operational support.
