Job Description:Flexible PRN Opportunity at a Community-Focused Hospital Our client is seeking a PRN Pathologist to join the laboratory team in Chicago, providing PTO coverage for the current staff for 7-8 weeks a year. This opportunity is ideal for a pathologist seeking flexible supplemental coverage while practicing in a collaborative hospital environment. The selected physician will provide anatomic and clinical pathology services, including surgical pathology interpretation, gross examination, and consultation on clinical pathology matters. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and serving as a resource for blood bank and transfusion-related questions. Highlights:PRN/As-Needed ScheduleTypical work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (dependent on daily caseload)24/7 phone call coverage required when scheduledNo on-site call responsibilitiesIndependent practice environmentSupportive hospital-based laboratory team Responsibilities:Interpret surgical pathology specimens and render timely diagnosesPerform and/or oversee gross examination of specimensProvide clinical pathology consultation to medical staffAddress blood bank and transfusion medicine-related inquiriesCollaborate with laboratory personnel and hospital cliniciansEnsure compliance with quality, regulatory, and accreditation standards Qualifications:BC/BE in Anatomic and Clinical PathologyActive Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain)Strong grossing skills requiredAbility to practice independently with minimal supervisionComfortable managing clinical pathology issues, including blood bank and transfusion medicine consultationsExcellent communication and collaboration skills Don’t wait, apply today!
