Join us in making a positive impact on healthcare delivery as we strive for excellence in patient service.\r\nOverviewAs a Medical Assistant at Hometown Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery by assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of our patients.\r\nThis position would require shifts at most or all of these clinics:\r\nAkron, Barberton, Massillon, N. Canton, Cuyahoga Falls\r\nDutiesResponsible for taking patient history and obtain vital signs\r\nPerform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing.\r\nPerform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples.\r\nAccurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples.\r\nAble to perform subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections and accurately complete paperwork according to policy for that procedure.\r\nPerform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels.\r\nDispense and document medications and other treatment modalities.\r\nInsure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave.\r\nSchedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients.\r\nAssist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation\r\nPerform occupational medicine testing such as: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals\r\nMaintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA).\r\nEnsures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager.\r\nLogs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.\r\nResponsible for patient call backs, scheduling physician referrals; specialist’s referrals and pharmacy issues; and patient’s education.\r\nMaintains examination rooms, sterilization of equipment and stocks necessary medical supplies.\r\nPerforms duties to ensure good patient flow.\r\nRegistration duties: explain to patients' accepted insurances and those out of network and knowledgeable of all pricing.
