Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist.

DutiesIdentifies risks to the supply chain, approves mitigation strategies, and directs implementation of required changes to procedures.Facilitates the due diligence assessment of the unit’s supply chain to detect, identify, assess, mitigate and exploit risk and/or vulnerabilities to the organization.Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the command’s supply management, equipment management, and transportation programs.Evaluates program effectiveness through review of reports, personal observations, and other means and takes corrective action when appropriate.Validates accuracy of custodial/accountable records through random inspections and recommends process improvement solutions based on trend analysisDevelops functional logistics systems specifications and translates functional requirements to technical data processing language.Assigns responsibilities to subordinates, reviews their work, and provides guidance and assistance on technical and administrative matters.Prepares performance standards, serves as the rating official on appraisals, and holds corrective interviews with subordinates.RequirementsConditions of employmentAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.This position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year supervisory probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315May require TDY travel over more than 30 days to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 30% of the time.
