The primary function of this role will be to support biomarker efforts through assay development and analysis of nucleic acids extracted from human samples. The ideal candidate would have prior experience employing a variety of molecular biology strategies to analyze gene expression of low copy targets. The candidate will actively design and independently execute experiments, contribute to project and program teams and provide clear and consistent communication of ideas, data, and conclusions.Responsibilities:Optimize the processing of human tissue and biofluids (blood and CSF) for the purpose of isolating and analyzing RNA. Troubleshoot and refine protocols to improve sensitivity and yield from low-input and precious sample types.Utilize a variety of molecular biology techniques to detect rare target RNAs.Perform antibody-based techniques to isolate and detect cell-derived particles and analytes of interest.Stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the field and evaluate their applicability to ongoing biomarker and translational research efforts.Collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners including Biology, Pre-Clinical, Clinical, and Quality teams and key leadership members.Prepare and contribute to scientific presentations.Maintain an accurate and detailed electronic laboratory notebook of experimental procedures and resultsEducation and Experience:PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Neuroscience or related discipline with 1-2 years of relevant industry experience or MSc/BSc with 6+ years of relevant industry experienceStrong hands-on experience with.
