Derived from the Linux and OpenShift patch management.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLinux & OpenShift Patch Management:\n\nLead monthly, emergency, and zero-day patch deployments for Linux servers and OpenShift clusters.\n\nIdentify, assess, test, validate, and deploy security and infrastructure patches.\n\nPerform pre- and post-patch health checks, compliance validation, troubleshooting, and rollback activities.\n\nManage patch deployment schedules, maintenance windows, and remediation tracking.\n\nSupport automation of patch deployment and post-patch validation processes.\n\nLinux Administration:\n\nAdminister enterprise Linux environments and patch management infrastructure.\n\nPerform Linux OS patching, manual updates, console management, and patch workflow monitoring.\n\nTroubleshoot patch failures, system issues, and post-deployment incidents.\n\nSupport system hardening, security compliance, and vulnerability remediation initiatives.\n\nMaintain operational documentation and deployment records.\n\nOpenShift Platform Administration:\n\nManage patching activities for OpenShift clusters using approved enterprise tools.\n\nIdentify cluster nodes requiring patching and validate patch compatibility with cluster configurations.\n\nExecute cluster patch deployments during approved maintenance windows.\n\nMonitor cluster health, workload availability, and deployment progress during patch cycles.\n\nConduct post-patching validation and coordinate application/platform verification with stakeholders.\n\nChange & Service Management:\n\nDrive Change Management activities, deployment planning, approvals, and maintenance coordination.\n\nCollaborate with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Platform teams to minimize deployment risks.\n\nCoordinate testing, production releases, rollback planning, and implementation reviews.\n\nParticipate in governance, audit, and compliance reviews.\n\nReporting & Governance:\n\nProduce operational and executive patch compliance reports and dashboards.\n\nTrack remediation status, patch success rates, exceptions, vulnerabilities, and SLA compliance.\n\nMaintain issue logs and monitor failed patch deployments through closure.\n\nDrive continuous improvement and automation initiatives across Linux and OpenShift operations.\n\nRequired Skills:\n\nExpert-level Linux administration experience (RHEL, Rocky Linux, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu).\n\nStrong OpenShift administration and platform support experience.\n\nHands-on experience with enterprise patch management and automation tools (Ansible, Satellite, SCCM, Tanium, BigFix or equivalent).\n\nStrong shell scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Ansible).\n\nDeep knowledge of Linux security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance frameworks.\n\nStrong understanding of ITIL Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management processes.\n\nExperience supporting mission-critical enterprise environments.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)\n\nRed Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration\n\nRed Hat OpenShift Administrator Certification\n\nITIL Foundation Certification\n\nSecurity or Vulnerability Management certifications\n\nExperience\n\n8+ years of experience in Linux Infrastructure Administration, OpenShift Platform Administration, Patch Management, or Vulnerability Remediation supporting large-scale enterprise environments.\n\nKey Competencies:\n\nLinux Administration\n\nOpenShift Administration\n\nVulnerability Remediation\n\nPatch Management\n\nCluster Lifecycle Management\n\nAnsible Automation\n\nPlatform Security & Compliance\n\nChange & Release Management\n\nRoot Cause Analysis\n\nOperational Governance & Reporting\n\nStakeholder Management\n\nContinuous Improvement & Automation\n\nThe pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $32.36/hour - $50.56/hour.
