The Calibration Technician supports calibration and equipment activities for manufacturing and service operations. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical or technical aptitude to develop expertise in calibration, instrumentation, and equipment support within a regulated medical device environment.\n\nImportant: This position is located in Medina, NY and is designed as an onsite role, with an encouraged presence of five (5) days per week to foster collaboration, innovation, and connection across the team. Baxter is seeking candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance and are able to regularly support the business through in-person engagement and partnership at the Medina site.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\nThis position is responsible for following procedures to ensure that electrical, electronic, mechanical, and analytical measuring equipment meets industry standards.\n\nAccurately test and calibrate indicating and recording equipment so that they give proper readings.\nMaintaining equipment, troubleshooting equipment (to the component level) and repairing any damage.\nPerform assigned calibration and equipment support activities to help ensure manufacturing and service equipment remains accurate and available for use.\nComplete calibration and equipment documentation in accordance with approved procedures.\nOperate various electronic meters and test equipment\nRead blueprints, schematics and follow written instructions\nAble to perform tasks assigned with minimal supervision\nSupport investigation and troubleshooting of equipment issues affecting manufacturing operations.\nProcess quality related documentation in an FDA regulated facility as it relates to calibration and equipment.\nAbility to use various software packages such as MS Excel, Word, and Access Databases\nSupport internal and external calibration activities as assigned.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n\nHigh School diploma GED or 2 years of College, Technical Trade School or US Military training in electronics is preferred.\nPrior calibration experience is beneficial but not required for candidates with strong technical aptitude, mechanical skills, and a desire to learn.\nWorking experience in medical devices or related industry preferred.\n“Good Manufacturing Practices and Medical Device Regulations\nGood math and reading skills\nComputer literate\nExcellent attention to detail\nBasic mechanical ability and understanding, to include a demonstrated mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn calibration techniques and regulatory requirements.\nKnowledge of Anti-static precautions for working with static-sensitive electronic components working safely with electricity.\nAbility to learn the functions of infusion pumps and their various configurations.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n\nAble to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.\nAble to sit and stand throughout the day.\nPhysical Requirements: Dynamic Lifting capability: Must have the ability to lift and carry 15 pounds from floor to shoulder and lift 2 pounds from shoulder to overhead. Must also have the capability to push and pull a maximum force of 6 pounds.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\n\nWork environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.\n\nThis is a manufacturing environment regulated by the FDA and many other work rules to prevent damage to the product we manufacture. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
