Responsible for answering coding and billing questions, onboarding and training new staff, performing coding audits, and development and deployment of coding education. Works in conjunction with the Coding Service Center leadership team in planning and performing coding education and training across the system. Responsible for performing internal audits and follow up education. Facilitates and promotes standardization of coding practices, monitors and communicates regulatory coding and billing changes for timely and accurate implementation. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning with regard to compliant coding and regulatory billing practices.\n\nAlong with CO, KS and NM, this position is open to remote/out of state candidates residing in only these states:\n- Alabama- Arizona- Arkansas- Colorado\n- Florida- Georgia- Idaho- Indiana\n- Iowa- Kansas - Kentucky- Louisiana\n- Missouri- Mississippi- Nebraska- New Mexico\n- North Carolina- Ohio- Oklahoma- South Carolina\n- South Dakota- Tennessee- Texas- Utah\n- Virginia- West Virginia- Wyoming\n\nJob Requirements\n\nIn addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:\n\nHigh School Diploma/G.E.D. required\nAssociate or Bachelor's degree in HIM, preferred\n5 years coding experience in an acute care setting coding all types of hospital visits/admits with a high degree of skill in inpatient and outpatient expertise is required.\n2 years' experience in internal auditing and/or coding education; prefer multi-healthcare setting experience\n\nSoftware/Hardware: Epic and 3M 360 experience required\nAdvance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nCurrent AHIMA credentials (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P RCC) or AAPC credential (COC, CIC, CPC, CPC-H) required and maintained.\nPhysical Requirements - Sedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally\nWhere You'll Work\n\nWe believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness.\n\nCommonSpirit Mountain Region’s Corporate Service Center is headquartered in Centennial, CO where our corporate leaders and centralized teams support our hospitals, clinics and people – including marketing, human resources, employee benefits, finance, billing, talent acquisition/development, payor relations, IT, project management, community benefit and more.
