Backed and supported by an industrial family with deep operating roots in the steel and steel products sectors, Forge52 partners with founders and management teams to drive growth and long-term value creation.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Analyst to support our deal sourcing efforts. This role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable with high-volume outreach, enjoy speaking directly with business owners, and want exposure to private equity investing.This is a front-line role responsible for originating new investment opportunities through direct outreach and relationship development. The position offers meaningful upside tied to performance and direct exposure to senior investment professionals.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Outreach: Own outbound sourcing efforts, including customizing outreach materials, coordinating mail/email campaigns, and conducting follow-up calls with business ownersQualification: Speak directly with owners, assess potential fit, and surface actionable opportunities to the investment teamIntermediary Coverage: Maintain regular communication with investment bankers, brokers, and other intermediariesCRM Management: Track all outreach activity, maintain accurate records of interactions, and manage pipeline progressionPipeline Development: Help build and refine target lists across priority industry verticalsTarget Candidate ProfileWe are open to a range of backgrounds, including:0–2 years of experienceSales or business development professionals looking to transition into financeCandidates who are looking for a path into investingPrior search fund or internship experience involving direct business owner outreachIndividuals with experience selling into industrial or manufacturing end marketsKey QualitiesComfortable on the phone and able to engage confidently with business ownersHigh activity tolerance and strong work ethicResilient and persistent, with the ability to handle frequent rejectionOrganized and detail-oriented, especially in tracking outreach and follow-upsFinance-literate, with a basic understanding of financial statements and private equity conceptsStrong interest in investing and long-term career development in private equityCompensationBase salary: $45,000 - $55,000Performance-based bonuses for deal-related milestonesLocation & Work StructureThe role is expected to be in-office or hybrid in New York, NY, particularly during the initial training period.
