Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:\n\nReporting to and supporting the Resident Engineer or Project Manager\nWorking independently to manage and complete assigned tasks.\nReview and understanding of construction plans, specifications, submittals, and contract documents\nPerform daily inspections to verify that the Contractor work is being completed in accordance with the contract documents\nPrepare daily construction reports that identify the contractor workforce, equipment, and activities, site visitors, and includes daily progress photos\nPrepare regular status reports and maintain current and accurate record drawings.\nKeep Resident Engineer (RE)/Project Manager informed of the Contractor’s progress and activities.\nReview contractor QC documentation and checklists\nDocument meeting minutes\nReview inspector daily reports and material documentation\nMaintain the project quantity book\nReport and document any field conditions that deviate from the Contract\nIn this role, you'll also communicate with all members of the Jacobs team, client, and contractor and work together to mitigate or eliminate project risks. Working together, we’ll help you design your career and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future – big and small, global and local.\n\n#LI-LM1236\n\nHere's what you'll need\n\n4 – 8 years of experience in water/sewer, roadway, bridge and/or transit construction engineering and inspection services\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline\nLocal to and ability to commute to/from project locations in northeastern Illinois or southeastern Wisconsin\nProficiency with Microsoft applications, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook\nWorking knowledge/experience utilizing project management software such as eBuilder, InEight or CMMS\nExcellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills\nIdeally, you’ll also have:\n\nCurrent IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification\nExperience on Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), Chicago Department of Water Management (CDOWM), Metra and/or Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) projects\nExperience on Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) projects\nOSHA 10- or 30- hour training\nEngineer in Training-EIT certification\nAbility and desire to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)\nProficiency with Bluebeam\nWorking knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project\nPosted Salary Range: Minimum\n80,000.00\n\nPosted Salary Range: Upper\n119,925.00\n\nOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
