Positioned at the intersection of café culture, convenience, and functional nutrition, we're reimagining the drinks people buy every day — proving you don't have to compromise between great taste and quality ingredients. What began as a cult-favorite DTC brand has rapidly scaled into an omnichannel business, now expanding into major retail while building a loyal community around better-for-you café favorites.\r\nThe Opportunity: We're hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help us build that engine faster, cleaner, and with fewer surprises after launch.\r\nThis is a true full-stack role — spanning Shopify, custom frontend/backend systems, checkout and cart flows, subscriptions, experimentation infrastructure, tracking, and AI-assisted engineering workflows. It's built for someone who's already owned this kind of work as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Shopify/Ecommerce Engineer, or Lead Engineer at a DTC brand or agency, and wants to do it with more ownership and less red tape.\r\nWhat You'll Own: 40% — Shopify, cart, checkout, and ecommerce funnel work\r\n25% — Custom web apps and services (React, Next.js, occasionally Vue)\r\n15% — Cloudflare Workers, reverse proxy, and split-testing infrastructure\r\n10% — Recharge / subscription and customer portal work\r\n10% — QA, release process, code review, and technical standards\r\nWhat You'll Do: Build and maintain high-quality ecommerce experiences across Shopify and our custom infrastructure.\r\nWork with Shopify APIs, product/variant data, cart behavior, checkout constraints, and webhooks.\r\nShip frontend experiences in React, Next.js, and occasionally Vue.\r\nBuild backend services, integrations, and internal tools.\r\nExtend our Cloudflare Workers and reverse-proxy/split-testing infrastructure.\r\nSupport A/B testing and experimentation across the ecommerce funnel.\r\nImprove subscription experiences — Recharge/customer portal flows, cancellations, product swaps, rebill logic, and retention features.\r\nImplement and validate tracking across experiments, attribution, and analytics (Amplitude, Elevar, PostHog, server-side tracking, or similar).\r\nUse AI coding tools as leverage — to move faster, explore approaches, debug, and check your own work.\r\nOwn pre-launch QA for high-impact launches: pricing tests, checkout changes, subscription changes, tracking updates.\r\nCatch edge cases before customers or the business do, and monitor launches after release.\r\nCommunicate early and clearly — especially when something's risky, under-scoped, or likely to break.\r\nWhat You Bring: Required Production experience with Shopify — Admin API, Storefront API, webhooks, product/variant/cart/checkout logic.\r\nStrong React and/or Next.js, plus TypeScript or strong modern JavaScript.\r\nNode.js (or similar) backend experience and solid API design chops.\r\nComfort integrating third-party APIs, using Git/GitHub PR workflows, and owning production deployments.\r\nA track record of debugging production issues and building software that's fast, reliable, and maintainable.\r\nSound judgment using AI dev tools — as an accelerant, not a substitute for engineering fundamentals.\r\nStrongly Preferred Recharge or a similar subscription platform (Skio, Stay.ai , Smartrr, Ordergroove, Loop, etc.).\r\nSubscription flows: skips, delays, swaps, rebills, save offers.\r\nShopify Functions / Checkout Extensibility.\r\nCloudflare Workers, reverse proxies, or edge infrastructure.\r\nA/B testing or experimentation systems.\r\nEcommerce analytics and tracking tools (Amplitude, Elevar, PostHog, server-side tracking).\r\nPerformance optimization for high-traffic ecommerce pages.\r\nBuilding internal tools for ecommerce, ops, or catalog management.\r\nReal, hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar).\r\nWhat Success Looks Like: Ecommerce launches ship faster, with fewer post-launch fire drills.\r\nHigh-impact Shopify, checkout, subscription, and tracking work needs less manual oversight from the CTO.\r\nA/B tests, pricing changes, and checkout updates are implemented cleanly and measured correctly.\r\nAI tools boost velocity without ever lowering the quality bar.\r\nThe rest of the engineering team levels up from working alongside you.\r\nWho Thrives Here: You ship quickly without being sloppy, and you test your own work before handing it off.\r\nYou think in edge cases, not just happy paths — because you know ecommerce bugs cost real revenue.\r\nYou can take a business problem, not just a polished ticket, and run with it.\r\nYou push back — clearly and early — when something's risky or under-specified.\r\nYou debug deeply instead of guessing, and you leave every system better than you found it.\r\nYou care about conversion and customer experience as much as clean code.\r\nYou raise the bar for everyone around you.\r\nHow We Think About AI: We believe AI is a serious engineering advantage when it's used well. We want someone who uses it to explore approaches faster, write boilerplate, generate tests, debug, and review code — not someone who ships code because it appeared to work once.\r\nYou should be able to look at AI-generated code and know immediately whether it's wrong, insecure, unscalable, or under-tested. No vibe coding. Use AI aggressively — but keep your engineering judgment firmly in the driver's seat.\r\nLogistics Full-time, fully remote, EST working hours, US-based.\r\nStrong written and verbal English communication.\r\nComfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities shift fast.\r\nWhy This Role Rocks: Competitive Salary\r\n100% Company-Paid Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance for employees\r\n(Family coverage available at employee cost)\r\n401(k) Retirement Plan\r\nParental Leave\r\nFree Access to Javvy Products\r\nCareer Growth Opportunities\r\nCollaborative, Fast-Paced Start-Up Environment\r\nEqual Opportunity Employer\r\nJavvy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
