This role leads tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements while managing a team of tax professionals and serving as a key client advisor.The position requires strong technical expertise in corporate and flow-through taxation, along with the ability to oversee complex engagements, guide staff development, and deliver strategic tax solutions aligned with client business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & Technical OversightOversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings, with emphasis on corporate returnsEnsure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable tax regulationsMaintain and supervise tax documentation and supporting workpapersConduct technical research on complex tax matters and provide practical solutionsTax Planning & Advisory ServicesDevelop and implement tax strategies to optimize client tax positionsIdentify planning opportunities to reduce overall tax exposureProvide proactive advisory support tailored to industry-specific business modelsCommunicate regulatory updates and their impact on client operationsClient Relationship ManagementServe as primary point of contact for assigned clientsBuild and maintain strong advisory relationships with business owners and finance teamsTranslate complex tax concepts into clear, actionable guidanceUnderstand client operations and align tax strategies with business goalsLeadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level tax staffReview work product and provide technical guidance and feedbackSupport recruitment, training, and professional development initiativesFoster a collaborative and high-performance team environmentOperational & Project ManagementManage engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverablesImprove internal processes and workflow efficiency within tax engagementsParticipate in firm initiatives and knowledge-sharing effortsStay current on evolving tax laws and regulatory changes affecting corporate and partnership structuresQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldActive CPA license required5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or advisory servicesStrong background in corporate and partnership taxationExperience working with clients in consumer-focused or product-based industries preferredProven leadership and team management experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and client-facing abilitiesProficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office SuiteCompensationCompetitive salary range aligned with experience and qualificationsWe are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
