Health Information Management Supervisor (Philadelphia)
Our award-winning healthcare client is seeking an HIM Operations Supervisor to support and lead key Health Information Management workflows focused on patient identity and chart correction operations. This individual will oversee a team of analysts responsible for patient identity management, chart corrections, overlays, and patient merges, while helping drive operational excellence, compliance, and workflow efficiency across the HIM function. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong Epic experience and deep knowledge of HIM operations and patient identity integrity.This position is remote but requires candidates to be within a drivable distance to Philadelphia for quarterly meetings!Responsibilities:-Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of HIM operations related to patient identity management and chart correction workflows.-Lead and support analysts responsible for patient merges, overlays, chart corrections, and medical record integrity initiatives.-Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, HIPAA privacy requirements, and internal HIM policies and procedures.-Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, quality measures, and operational productivity.-Monitor team performance, productivity metrics, and quality standards to ensure departmental expectations are met.-Assist with staff scheduling, timecard approvals, and other administrative leadership responsibilities.-Partner cross-functionally with operational and clinical teams to support timely issue resolution and maintain data integrity.-Participate in meetings and projects representing the HIM department as needed.Qualifications:-5+ years of Health Information Management (HIM) experience.-2+ years of experience leading or supervising teams.-Strong experience with patient identity management, including patient merges, overlays, and chart correction workflows.-Hands-on Epic proficiency, preferably within HIM identity and chart correction functions.-Strong Microsoft Office skills.-Associate's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field.-RHIT or RHIA certification through AHIMA required upon hire.Preferred Qualifications:-Leadership experience within HIM operations in a healthcare environment.-Experience with Cures Act and HIPAA Privacy Rules.-OnBase proficiency.-Bachelor's or Master's degree in a healthcare-related or business-related field.-CHPS, CHDA, and/or Epic certification preferred.
