Speech Language Pathology Clinical Lead, Outpatient
Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation is seeking a Clinical Lead to add to our SLP Team.
The Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Lead provides evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognitive, voice, and/or swallowing disorders. (S)he is responsible for outpatient (on and offsite). (S)he is expected to assist in general program development, clinical initiatives and to be actively involved in continuing education. In addition, (s)he is responsible for knowing and adhering to hospital and departmental policies and procedures and the standards outlined in the Code of Ethics of ASHA. This position serves all ages, groups, and diagnostic categories. Displays leadership in hiring new SLPs, monitoring compliance for all SLPs and assisting with management of SLP resources across Outpatient Organization. Works closely with Inpatient SLP Department to ensure utilization of resources.
This position will be supervising CFY clinicians, graduating student interns, and speech pathology assistants regarding clinical issues. The sucessful candidate will also be responsible for clinical supervision of all Outpatient SLP staff, and will work with offsite clinic managers to ensure appropriate staffing. This position reports to the Outpatient Therapy Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree or higher in communication disorders.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in the practice of Speech-Language Pathology beyond completion of the clinical Fellowship Year. Leadership experience in rehabilitation strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
Hold a Tennessee license in Speech-Language Pathology prior to start of employment.
CPR certification through American Heart Assn
Skills/Competencies:
Must demonstrate good judgment and appropriate respect for persons with a variety of disabilities and challenging behaviors. Must meet competency requirements during the first 30 days of employment for the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, cognition, and dysphagia. May be required to meet other competency requirements such as interpretation of modified barium/videofluoroscopic swallow function studies. Demonstrates ability to monitor staff performance and mentor when indicated, demonstrates commitment to ongoing continuing education including training of other staff members.
