Together, we can make it happen. About the RoleThe Director of Construction Services leads construction delivery for EV charging installations and commercial building efficiency retrofit and electrification projects. This role ensures projects meet safety, schedule, budget, and quality goals while scaling construction operations and maintaining strong customer satisfaction. In addition, this role is critical in leading operational efficiency and strong financial management for our general contracting projects. The ideal candidate will be a licensed general contractor who is willing and able to travel 25-50%, primarily within California. What you'll be doingConstruction Delivery Leadership:Oversee or lead execution of EV and commercial retrofit and electrification construction projects from preconstruction to completionOversee project budgets, schedules, QA/QC, and field executionEstablish KPIs and drive performance improvementsSafety and Risk Management:Lead safety programs and ensure OSHA/Cal-OSHA complianceMonitor safety metrics and enforce best practicesExperienced and able to evaluate risksEstablish strategies that identify and property quantify, assign and limit construction risksContractor & Quality ManagementRecruit, vet and manage subcontractor network and performance.Onboard and negotiation service agreements with favorable termsLead site audits, inspections, and QA/QC processesPerform job walks to develop specific scopes of work for bidding and proposal developmentEnsure compliance with permits and construction standardsFinancial & Program ManagementManage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controlsOversee change orders and financial performanceIdentify cost savings opportunitiesClient & Stakeholder Management:Maintain strong client relationships and ensure satisfactionCoordinate with utilities, agencies, and internal teamsSupport business development effortsTeam Management & Development:Recruiting, leading, mentoring, and training assigned staffMonitoring and evaluating team performance, providing constructive feedback and recognition.Promoting a positive and inclusive work culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and diversity What We're Looking For10+ years of construction management experience. 5+ years of leadership experience.General contractor “B” license holder / Responsible Managing Employee; CA C-10 electrical license a plusStrong construction project management expertise.In-depth knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices.Excellent communication and leadership skillsSafety and compliance knowledgeFinancial and operational acumen, including how to establish and maintain budgets  Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with construction management software and other relevant technologies.Leadership experience with building energy efficiency/electrification and/or transportation electrification projects.An ability to qualify as a Responsible Managing Employee in California and other states.Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems.Experience in project level accounting and tracking a plus. OSHA 30 Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
