Dance Academy Instructor

Department: Dance Academy Status: Minor Part-Time, At-Will, Non-Exempt, positionSupervisor: Dance Academy CoordinatorSummary:A Dance Instructor is responsible for educating students on proper technique and vocabulary of dance styles while in a safe and fun environment, as well as assisting the Dance Academy Coordinator with creating and executing Dance Recitals. Support, teach, and encourage participants to meet their dance goals.Functions:Instructing youth and adult dance class to APJCC members and guestsAttend department meetings and continuing education classes to maintain qualificationsHelp keep the center well-stocked and really clean.Keep all equipment in good working condition.Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness studio environment, picking up towels, water bottles, etc. Education:Dance or Child Development Degree, or some completed units in ECE or Dance at a college level preferred Qualifications:1 year teaching experience preferred.4 years of Dance experience required.Extensive training in various dance formatsCurrent CPR/AED and First Aid certificationStrong communication skillsAbility to teach and encourage all membersCommitment to full series of classes at the APJCC Working Conditions:The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
