Mechanical CAD Drafter

Reports To: Drafting Supervisor/ Engineering ManagerBasic Functions: Prepare scale and fabrication drawings for heat exchangers and pressure vessels using AutoCAD 2D. Major Duties:Create scale drawings of a complete heat exchanger/pressure vessel and/or its components Prepare fabrication drawingsPrepare purchasing sketches for vendorsMeasure existing components and create AS-BUILT drawings Checks bill of materials for accuracyQualifications:Education – Associates degree or technical certificate in mechanical drafting. Engineering Technology, or related field experienceKnowledge – Autocad 2D is a mustSkills – Read and interpret fabrication drawings.Must be consistent in thought processes and work methodologyStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to read and properly use a tape measureExperience with caliper measurement tool is a plusWorking Conditions/Location – Technical office setting and manufacturing shop floor Pearland, TX or Sulphur, LA
