CNC Machinist/Operator

About us JL Mag is a publicly traded company, dual-listed on the HK and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. JL Mag (USA) is located in Ontario, California. It is the marketing and design engineering office for the US market. Our rare earth magnets are critical to the green energy initiative, it's used in Electric Vehicle Powertrain, Wind Power Turbines, and Mobile Phone Actuation (speaker, camera, vibration etc.) Our customers are the premier American makers of those products. JL Mag is looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures. Responsibilities: Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output; Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job; Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping; Select appropriate machines and position or load material for a job; Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc; Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues; Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects; Keep records of approved and defective units or final products; Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages; Rapid prototyping parts that meet the required specifications. Requirements and skills: Proven experience as machinist Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) Firm understanding of CNC lathe programs including formatting and editing programs. CAD/CAM experience is strongly preferred. Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Strong shop math skills including the ability to perform measurement conversion. A genuine belief in continuous improvement and a disciplined process. Organization and time-management skills. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work assignments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer knowledge and ability to use various types of manufacturing software programs. Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law).
