This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant drawback claims under CBP regulations, while maximizing legitimate duty recovery for the company. The Drawback Administrator partners closely with Trade Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, and external experts to maintain a robust, audit‑ready program.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOversee end‑to‑end administration of the company’s U.S. duty drawback program (e.g., unused, manufacturing, rejected merchandise).\nCollect, reconcile, and validate data from customs entries, bills of lading, commercial invoices, AES filings, inventory records, and internal systems to support drawback claims.\nPrepare and review drawback claims and work with third‑party providers responsible for claim filing.\nDevelop exception reporting to identify and resolve data mismatches and gaps; consolidate and normalize data from multiple business units and service providers into a unified set for claim processing.\nDevelop claim strategies and prioritization to maximize recovery while adhering to regulatory requirements.\nMaintain comprehensive and organized drawback documentation and audit files, ensuring traceability from import to export/destruction.\nManage Customs audits and inquiries related to drawback, ensuring timely and compliant responses.\nDevelop and maintain internal SOPs, controls, and calendar tracking for claim deadlines and record retention requirements.\nCoordinate with IT and Finance to improve data quality and implement automated data feeds and reconciliation routines to support drawback.\nAnalyze drawback program performance and produce periodic reports and metrics on recovered duties, claim status, and financial impact.\nEducate internal stakeholders (e.g., Logistics, Sales, Operations) on drawback-eligible scenarios, documentation needs, and process requirements.\nMonitor regulatory and procedural changes related to drawback and implement necessary adjustments to policies and processes.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field; or equivalent years of directly relevant experience.\nMinimum 5 years of experience working with U.S. customs operations, duty drawback, or customs accounting within a corporate environment.\nRegulatory knowledge requirements include a comprehensive understanding of U.S. duty drawback laws and regulations, CBP guidance, Customs entry processes, import/export documentation, recordkeeping, and the connections between import classifications, values, and drawback eligibility.\nDemonstrated experience analyzing large data sets (imports, exports, inventory) and reconciling discrepancies.\nStrong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations related to drawback and general customs procedures.\nProficiency with Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, basic formulas) and comfort working with multiple data sources.\nExperience with customs broker systems, ACE reporting, and/or drawback software solutions.\nLicensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) or advanced progress toward licensure.\nPrior experience working directly on duty drawback programs (either in‑house or through a drawback specialist firm).\nExposure to manufacturing environments and the ability to understand bills of material and production records.\nExperience with ERP and data warehouse tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL-based reporting tools).\nSkills:\nCollaboration, Deadline Management, Detail-Oriented, High-Integrity, Project Prioritization, Quantitative Analytics, Regulatory Requirements, Supply Chain Logistics, Verbal Communications, Written Communication\nEducation & Experience:\nMinimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work | Required\nPay Range:\n$84,800.00 - $111,300.00\nPay Range Explained:\nThis role in Livermore, California pays between $84,800.00 and $111,300.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background.
