This role provides hands-on training while supporting HVAC, lighting, and automation systems under the guidance of experienced technicians, with a strong focus on safety, learning, and skill development.\nResponsibilities:\nWork on construction and service sites in a variety of weather and environmental conditions.\nSupport licensed electricians and journeypersons with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.\nAssist in installing, wiring, and maintaining electrical and BMS control systems, including HVAC, lighting, and temperature control systems.\nProvide support during commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of BMS controllers, sensors, and field devices under supervision.\nLearn to identify and diagnose electrical and control system issues using approved testing and diagnostic tools.\nAssist with preventive and corrective maintenance of building automation systems.\nRead and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and control drawings with guidance.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all job sites.\nProperly use and care for tools, materials, and equipment.\nAssist with material handling, site setup, and job site cleanup.\nComply with all safety regulations, company policies, and applicable electrical codes (NEC/CEC).\nAssist with maintaining accurate service records and project documentation.\nParticipate in on-the-job training, apprenticeship schooling, and technical development opportunities.\nQualifications:\nRegistered Apprentice Electrician or enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program (or willingness to enroll).\nBasic understanding of electrical systems and a strong interest in Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS).\nWillingness to learn control wiring, low-voltage systems, and HVAC controls.\nMechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.\nReliable, safety-conscious, and eager to develop a career in electrical and automation systems.\nPrior exposure to HVAC controls, sensors, or automation systems is an asset but not required.\nValid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.\nEqual Employment Opportunity: Control Solutions Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
