Energy Transport Driver-CDL
The position of a Transport Driver is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. Drivers deliver product to area customers in a safe and timely manner. A person in this position is responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering fuels and other products needing transported. A person in this position maintains operational performance with the utmost concentration and dedication and must be well versed in the standard operating procedures of the company. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Job Summary:
These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.
Loads, secures, transports, delivers and unloads refined fuels and LP products.
Performs pre and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials.
Applies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection points.
Plans and accomplishes operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex.
Gauges tank volumes and tests product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products while transporting from remote locations to pipeline injection points using a class eight tractor and a tanker trailer.
Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety.
Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven.
Reports all accidents, spills, incidents to manager in timely manner.
Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
Adhere to all commercial motor vehicle rules and regulations.
Respect customer property at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Class A CDL license with hazmat endorsements required.
Must meet all DOT requirements.
Clean driving record 5.3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution business preferred.
1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years preferred.
Ability to maintain accurate logs and records.
Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision.
Available to work outside of normal working hours as needed.
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
