R&D Scientist - Beverages
Our client, a global leader in the ingredients manufacturing space, is seeking a (Sr.) R&D Scientist to support innovation and growth across the North American beverage market. This individual will play a key role in developing differentiated powder and liquid beverage solutions while collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners to bring products from concept through commercialization. This is a highly hands-on role suited for an experienced product development professional with strong technical depth, commercial awareness, and customer-facing capabilities. Level of the role can be flexible between Scientist to Senior Scientist level based on experience. Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end formulation and concept development for internal and customer-facing beverage projectsDevelop powder and liquid beverage products aligned with customer, market, and regulatory requirementsApply strong technical and commercial understanding of ingredients, processing, and end-use applicationsDrive innovation within cost, quality, and manufacturing constraintsPlan and execute pilot plant trials and support scale-up and first production runs (internal and third-party)Collaborate cross-functionally with flavor, nutrition, regulatory, sales, marketing, and manufacturing teamsSupport customer engagements through technical presentations, demos, and on-site or virtual trialsContribute to continuous improvement of product quality, including flavor, color, texture, stability, and nutritional profileQualifications:Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline (advanced degree a plus)Demonstrated experience (5+ years) developing and commercializing beverage products in a product development or applications-focused roleHands-on exposure to formulating with value‑added or functional ingredients preferredStrong familiarity with beverage trends, customers, and commercialization considerations within the North American marketHistory of successfully carrying products from concept through scale‑up and launchAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating across technical and commercial teamsSolid technical foundation across formulation, sensory evaluation, processing, and food safety fundamentals
